Russia examining U.S. request for earlier Soyuz launch to ISS - source

BAIKONUR. Aug 16 (Interfax) - The Soyuz MS-07 manned spacecraft may be launched to the International Space Station (ISS) earlier than scheduled, a cosmodrome source told Interfax.

"The launch of Soyuz MS-07 transport manned spacecraft is scheduled for December 27. However, American colleagues have requested that the launch be brought forward by ten days due to the Christmas holidays in the U.S. from December 24," the source said, adding that there has not yet been a decision on changing the launch date.

In the event of rescheduling, Soyuz MS-05 could return to earth sooner than planned.

"The landing, too, may have to be 'moved to the left' to observe the condition of having at least two weeks between the landing of one ship and the launch of another," the source said.
