Patrushev discusses subarctic security with Murmansk region governor, Northern Fleet commander

MOSCOW. Aug 18 (Interfax) - Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev has visited Murmansk to discuss subarctic security with the Murmansk region's governor and the Northern Fleet commander, a spokesman for the Russian Security Council told Interfax on Friday.

"Patrushev had meetings with the Russian Navy's Northern Fleet Commander Nikolai Yevmenov and Murmansk region Governor Marina Kovtun to discuss topical aspects of the provision of Russia's national security in the subarctic zone," the spokesman said.

In addition, Patrushev paid his respects to sailors of war-time Arctic convoys on Friday.
