Hackers attack website of Kazakhstan's EXPO-2017 - Astana
ASTANA. Aug 21 (Interfax) - The EXPO-2017 exhibition's website of come under large-scale hacker attack, Astana EXPO-2017 national company said in a statement.
"After 11 p.m. on August 20 [Astana time] a large-scale DDoS attack was registered on the server which houses the expo2017.astana.com website. Using different IP-addresses, the attackers tried to take the server out of order by generating a big load (over 20,000 inquiries a second)," the Monday statement says.
At present, the server's operations have been fully revived, the company said.
"All the information concerning the DDoS attack was directed to special services," it said.
EXPO-2017 is being held in Astana between June 10 and September 10, 2017.
