Russian Helicopters to develop high-speed combat helicopter for Defense Ministry by 2020 - general director
MOSCOW. Aug 22 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Helicopters Holding intends to develop a concept of a high-speed combat helicopter for the Russian Defense Ministry two years from now, Russian Helicopters General Director Andrei Boginsky told Interfax in an interview.
"A contract for the concept of a high-speed combat helicopter is due to be signed with the Russian Defense Ministry on the sidelines of the Army 2017 international military-technical forum," Boginsky said.
The project will use the scientific and technological groundwork laid during trials of the flying laboratory simulating a prospective high-speed helicopter with a new rotor, he said.
"The contract will be fulfilled within two years; it will yield a high-speed combat helicopter concept and a technical assignment for research and development," Boginsky said.
