EAEU export credit agencies to create regulatory foundation for cooperation

ALMATY. Aug 25 (Interfax) - The export credit agencies of Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries have signed a memorandum on cooperation to establish a regulatory foundation for collaboration, the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) press service reported.

The goal of the memorandum is to stimulate multilateral and bilateral trade between EAEU countries. The agencies plan to organize an exchange of know-how in the area of insuring export credits and investment, as well as in export projects where joint support can be provided. There are also plans to work together under cooperation projects that involve exports of EAEU goods and services to third countries or their provision within the EAEU. They will also work out proposals to improve the domestic legislation of EAEU countries.

The memorandum was signed at the Eurasia Week forum by Nikita Gusakov, managing director for customer relations and underwriting at Russia's Export Credit and Investment Insurance Agency (Exiar); Gennady Mitskevich, general director of Beleximgarant; Ruslan Iskakov, CEO of KazakhExport Export Insurance Company; and Armen Shakhnazaryan, executive director of the Export Insurance Agency of Armenia.
