Lithuanian tourist found dead in river in Altai
GORNO-ALTAYSK. Aug 28 (Interfax) - Investigators in the Altai Republic are establishing circumstances of the death of a Lithuanian tourist, whose body was found in a river near the village of Inegen, the press service for the Russian Investigative Committee's department for the region told Interfax on Monday.
"The body of the Lithuanian tourist, who had traveled throughout Altai, was found on August 26. The body was found in the Onguday region near the village of Inegen. A preliminary inquiry is currently under way, the cause of death has not been established yet," the press service said.
Information that Karolis Kerge, aged 27, had been hitch-hiking was published in a relevant community of the Altai Republic on the Internet earlier. Last time he contacted his relatives on August 5.
