Ten people die after minibus falls into river in eastern Tajikistan

DUSHANBE. Aug 28 (Interfax) - Ten people were killed as a result of a fall of a minibus with passengers on board into the Shakhdara River in eastern Tajikistan, media said citing a dispatch center of the Tajik Emergency Situations Committee's headquarters for the Gorno-Badakhshan autonomous region.

"The tragedy occurred at around 7:30 a.m. on Monday, when the Starex minibus with 13 passengers, including four children, on board had fallen off from a mountain road into the river at the 20th kilometer of the Roshtqal'a-Khorugh motorway," the dispatch center said.

All children were killed, it said. Three surviving adult passengers and the driver sustained injuries and were admitted to the Khorugh City Hospital.
