Putin says agreed with Japanese, S. Korean leaders to discuss N. Korea on Eastern Economic Forum sidelines

XIAMEN (China). Sept 5 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said he has agreed with the leaders of Japan and South Korea during telephone conversations to continue a dialogue on the situation surrounding North Korea at their in-person meetings on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.

"As concerns the telephone calls [with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and South Korean President Moon Jae-in]: both telephone calls were focused on the events surrounding the tests of a nuclear device in North Korea. We agreed to continue the discussion when we meet in person. Both the president of South Korea and the prime minister of Japan will come to Vladivostok tomorrow to take part in the Eastern Economic Forum. We'll talk about this in more detail," Putin said at a press conference following a BRICS summit on Tuesday.
