Uzbekistan, USA want to launch joint investment platform in 2026
TASHKENT. April 8 (Interfax) - The U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) plans to assist Uzbekistan in attracting U.S. investors, and a joint investment platform is expected to be launched in 2026, the head of the Uzbek presidential administration Saida Mirziyoyeva said on her Telegram channel.
Mirziyoyeva is holding talks in Washington with U.S. officials on expanding Uzbek-U.S. economic and investment cooperation. In particular, the day before she held a business breakfast with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
"We discussed the results of the meeting of the U.S.-Uzbek Business and Investment Council and noted the growing portfolio of economic projects," Mirziyoyeva said.
A meeting with Ben Black, CEO of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, also took place, she said.
"During the meeting, we discussed a large portfolio of projects. The DFC will assist in attracting U.S. investors to Uzbekistan and will share investment risks. Also this year, we plan to launch a joint investment platform," she said.
It was previously reported that Mirziyoyeva, together with the U.S. president's special envoy for South and Central Asia, Sergio Gor, held a meeting of the American-Uzbek Business and Investment Council in Washington.
The agreement to create the council was reached during the visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the United States on November 4-6 last year. The corresponding decree was adopted in order to expand trade and investment cooperation and improve the business environment between the two countries.
Saida Mirziyoyeva, the eldest daughter of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has headed the Uzbek presidential administration since June 2025.
