Armenia discussing construction of new NPP with Russia - Pashinyan

YEREVAN. April 1 (Interfax) - Armenia is working with Russia on the construction of a new nuclear power plant, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said.

"We're cooperating with Russia in the energy sector, we have traditionally very strong ties and cooperation. We're now working with Russia very closely in order to develop in the sphere of new technologies in energy," Pashinyan said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.

Armenia is discussing the construction of a new nuclear power plant with Russia, he said.

"But we are completely transparent in these issues, because we're not hiding the fact that we're discussing these issues not only with our Russian partners, but also other partners, because we are looking for the most beneficial offer for Armenia," Pashinyan said.
