Armenia's GDP grows 7.2% in 2025, inflation accelerates to 3.3%

YEREVAN. Feb 20 (Interfax) - Armenia's GDP increased 7.2% in 2025 compared to the previous year, the country's Statistical Committee (Armstat) said, citing preliminary data.

Consumer prices in the country rose 3.3% last year, compared to inflation of 0.3% recorded in 2024.

Foreign trade turnover reached $21.43 billion, down 29% from 2024. Exports decreased 36.1% to $8.395 billion while imports fell 23.6% to $13.35 billion.

According to Armstat data, industrial production grew 4.7% last year to 3.328 trillion dram.

Agricultural production grew 5.6% to 1.57 trillion dram. This includes production in the crop farming sector which increased 9.7% to 539.903 billion dram and in the livestock sector which grew 1.8% to 517.321 billion dram. Production in the fishing industry reached 71.66 billion dram, up 3.7%.

Growth of 20.2% was recorded in the construction sector, to 810.676 billion dram, while there was 3% growth in the trade sector to 6.79 trillion dram and 10.6% growth in the services sector to 4.95 trillion dram.

Electricity generation in Armenia increased 6.7% in 2025 to 10.1 billion kWh. The mining sector grew 6.4% to 514.694 billion dram.

The Armenian state budget for 2025 projected GDP growth of 5.1% and average annual inflation at 3.5%.

The country's economy grew 5.9% in 2024.

The official exchange rate on February 20 is 376.94 dram/$1.
