Russia-U.S.-Ukraine working group on security to hold first meeting in Abu Dhabi on Jan 23 - Ushakov

MOSCOW. Jan 23 (Interfax) - The first meeting of the trilateral working group of Russia, Ukraine and the United States on security issues will take place in Abu Dhabi on Friday, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov said,

"An agreement was reached that the first meeting of the trilateral working group on security issues will be held in Abu Dhabi as soon as today, on Friday, January 23," Ushakov told reporters after the Russian-U.S. talks in the Kremlin said.

This group includes representatives from Russia, the U.S. and Ukraine, he said.

"Our negotiating group on security has already been formed and is flying out to the UAE within the next few hours. It consists of senior Defense Ministry officials led by chief of the General Staff's Main Directorate Adm. Kostyukov," Ushakov said.

The heads of the Russia-U.S. bilateral group on economic issues, Kirill Dmitriev and Steve Witkoff, will meet separately in Abu Dhabi, he said.

"Our delegation has just received concrete instructions from the Russian president taking into account all details of today's conversation with the Americans," Ushakov said.

Meanwhile, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Friday that the Russian delegation will fully consist of Defense Ministry representatives.

"Everyone is military personnel, these are representatives of the Defense Ministry. We will not be disclosing their names for now," Peskov said.
