Moscow reaffirms commitment to longstanding cooperation with Tehran, including in energy sector

MOSCOW. Jan 15 (Interfax) - Trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Iran is immune to external sanction pressure, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.

"Russian-Iranian trade and economic cooperation is mutually beneficial. It is not vulnerable to external sanction pressure," Zakharova said at a news briefing on Thursday.

Moscow and Tehran are "committed to longstanding interaction in various fields, including the energy sector," she said.

"We intend to continue developing trade ties with all interested countries, focusing primarily on our national interests rather than threats and intimidation by third countries," she said.
