Kazakhstan's economy to grow 6% in 2025 - Tokayev
ASTANA. Dec 24 (Interfax) - Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expects the country's economy to grow by 6% by the end of 2025, with GDP per capita exceeding $15,000.
"Despite a challenging period in the global economy, our country maintains steady development. For the year, economic growth is projected at 6%. GDP per capita will exceed 15,000 dollars," Tokayev said during a meeting on the capital city's development.
He said the drivers of growth have been manufacturing, construction and the transport and logistics sector. Systemic and large-scale work is already yielding tangible results.
Tokayev said Kazakhstan was entering a new, crucial stage of reforms for the country's future.
GDP grew 6.4% in January-November 2025%. Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin said Kazakhstan's GDP growth for the current year is expected to be 6.3-6.5%.
In 2024, Kazakhstan's GDP growth was 4.8%. The National Bank expects this to increase to 5.5%-6.5% in 2025.
