EU's 90-billion-euro loan to Kiev is not enough - Ukrainian finance minister
MOSCOW. Dec 22 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Finance Minister Sergei Marchenko welcomed the Council of the European Union's decision to issue a 90-billion-euro loan to Ukraine in his speech before the G7 foreign ministers, adding that the funds would not fully meet the needs of Ukraine, Ukrainian media said, citing the ministry website.
The virtual meeting involved finance ministers and central bank heads of G7 members, as well as the leadership of the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the European Commission, and the OECD.
"This year's demand for external funding has been full met," he said.
Marchenko described parameters of the 2026 budget and said that 60% of expenditures would go to defense. "It is crucial to maintain a substantial amount of external funding," he said.
