Belarusian industrial output falls 1.7% in 11M

MINSK. Dec 16 (Interfax) - Belarusian industrial output fell 1.7% year-on-year at constant prices to 190 billion Belarusian rubles in January-November 2025, national statistical committee Belstat said.

Output fell 1.3% in January-October, 0.8% in January-September and January-August 2025 and 0.3% in January-July, when it went into negative territory for the first time since March 2023.

Output had grown since the start of this year, but the growth had slowed consistently: it rose 0.3% year-on-year in January-June, 1% in January-May, 1.4% in January-April, 2.1% in January-March, 2% in January-February and 2.9% in January.

The manufacturing industry affected output most of all - this fell 2.3% in 11M and 2% in 10M 2025. Output grew in the extractive industry by 2.7% in 11M. It grew 2% in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air conditioning and was unchanged in water utilities.

Industry grew 5.4% year-on-year in 2024, with 7.7% growth in 2023 and a 5.4% decline in 2022.
