Belarusian gold, FX reserves rise 55.8% in 11M to record high of $13.9 bln

MINSK. Dec 3 (Interfax) - Belarusian gold and foreign-exchange reserves hit a record high of $13.9 billion as of December 1, 2025, compared to $8.92 billion at the beginning of the year, the National Bank of Belarus said.

The previous record was $13.73 billion on November 1.

The country's gold and FX reserves grew 55.8% or $4.98 billion in January-November. They rose 1.3% or $177.2 million in November, and 3.3% or $441 million in October.

The reserves grew in 11M 2025 as global gold prices rose and the National Bank conducted foreign-exchange purchases.

Monetary gold reserves grew 60% or $2.74 billion since the start of the year to $7.26 billion on December 1. They rose 4.6% or $320 million in November.

FX reserves grew 70% or by $2.19 billion to $5.24 billion in 11M. They fell 2.4% or $126 million in November after rising 2.4% in October.

IMF Special Drawing Rights totaled $1.4 billion.

Belarusian gold and foreign-exchange reserves grew 9.8% in 2024 after decreasing 2.5% in 2023 and 5.9% in 2022.

The National Bank is targeting reserves of at least $7.1 billion at the end of 2025.
