Russia exports 5.4 bcm of gas to Hungary in 10M, oil supplies continue - Deputy PM Novak

MOSCOW. Nov 28 (Interfax) - Russia exported 5.4 billion cubic meters of gas to Hungary in 10M 2025, and oil supplies are continuing, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said in an interview with Pavel Zarubin, host of the Moscow. Kremlin. Putin program on Rossiya-1 TV.

"We are currently continuing to implement gas supply contracts. There was a record volume of 8.6 billion cubic meters of gas last year. There has already been 5.4 billion cubic meters in the first 10 months this year. This means supplies are stable. Hungary, of course, enjoys a competitive advantage because it is not buying LNG, but rather long-term pipeline supplies of natural gas from Russia," Novak said.

Novak said that Russia continues exporting oil to Hungary, noting that the country has secured an exemption from the United States Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) for these deliveries under a contract with Lukoil until November 2026.

"Our trade and economic cooperation in the energy sector is developing. Projects implemented in our country by Hungarian companies are also operating successfully," Novak said.

Russia is the largest supplier of gas to Hungary, exporting via the TurkStream pipeline. Supplies are under a long-term, 15-year contract with Gazprom signed in 2021. A supplementary agreement, allowing for additional gas volumes, has been in effect since autumn 2023.
