IMF raises 2025 GDP growth forecast for Kazakhstan to over 6%
ASTANA. Nov 19 (Interfax) - The International Monetary Fund forecasts Kazakhstan's economy will grow more than 6% this year, the head of the IMF mission to the country, Ali Al-Eyd, said on Wednesday.
"We see very high economic growth rates in Kazakhstan. We forecast that real growth rates will exceed 6% in 2025," Al-Eyd said at a news conference in Astana.
He said Kazakhstan's GDP growth for 2026 was expected to be around 4.5%, driven by high oil production and strong domestic demand.
The IMF expects inflation to remain around 13% until the end of this year and to moderate slightly to 11% by the end of 2026.
The latest forecast is an improvement on the IMF's October projection of 5.9% growth for this year and 4.8% for 2026.
GDP grew 6.4% in January-October 2025 and 4.8% in 2024.
