Prices on Russian energy market for delivery on Mon increase in both zones
MOSCOW. Oct 20 (Interfax) - Free prices on the Russian energy market following trades for delivery on Monday, October 20, increased compared to Friday in both zones, including 2.22% in the European part of Russia and the Urals (the first price zone) to 2120.33 rubles/MWh, 7.55% in Siberia (the second price zone) to 1604.21 rubles/MWh, and 0.69% in the Far East (the second price zone) to 2966.27 rubles/MWh, according to materials from the website of the trade organizer, the energy exchange JSC ATS.
Compared to the results of trades for the same date last year (comparing with October 18, 2024, since October 20 was a non-working day) the current equilibrium price indices were 12.5% higher in the first zone and 3.6% lower in Siberia.
Energy consumption in the European part of Russia and the Urals increased 0.72% to 2.35 million MWh and in the Far East - 2.77% to 138,960 MWh, while in Siberia it was down 0.49% to 657,350 MWh.
Intraday volatility in Zone 1 is 44%, in Siberia - 21.8% and in the Far East - 5%.
As of January 1, 2025, the territories of Komi and the Arkhangelsk region have joined the first price zone, and the Far East has joined the second price zone. On the ATS website, prices for Siberia and the Far East are listed separately, since the United Energy System of Siberia and the United Energy System of the East belong to different synchronous zones of the Unified Energy System.
The main part of electricity in Russia is sold and purchased on the day-ahead market, and deviations in consumption are also traded on the balancing market in real time.
