Tajikistan, Russia discuss progress in implementing joint projects in energy sector
DUSHANBE. Oct 17 (Interfax) - Tajik Energy and Water Resources Minister Daler Juma has held a meeting with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak as part of a working visit to Russia, the press center of the Tajik Energy Ministry said.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the further development of bilateral cooperation in energy, oil and gas, as well as in the supply of petroleum products.
It was noted that Russia plays an important role in supplying the domestic market of Tajikistan with petroleum products.
"The parties discussed the progress of implementing joint projects in the energy sphere, including the activities of the open joint stock company Sangtuda HPP-1, and expressed satisfaction with the achieved results in resolving issues related to the functioning of this important energy facility," the press center said.
Juma took part in the plenary session of the 8th Russian Energy Week international forum.
The Russian Energy Week is taking place from October 15 to 17 in Moscow. Representatives from 85 countries are taking part including statesmen, the heads of energy companies and representatives of the expert and scientific community. The business program includes more than 60 events.
