Moldovan National Bank's reserves dip 1.6% in 9M 2025
CHISINAU. Oct 8 (Interfax) - The Moldovan National Bank's international reserves dipped 1.6% to 5.16 billion euros at the end of September 2025 from 5.25 billion euros at the end of December 2024, the regulator's data indicate.
The figure increased 1.8% in Q3 following a rise of 0.4% in Q2 and a decline of 3.7% in Q1.
Foreign currency accounts for 5.15 billion euros as part of the reserves, down 1.6% in 9M, having risen 2% in Q3. Monetary gold accounts for 7.65 million euros, a jump of 27.5% in 9M, and up 12.5% in Q3.
The National Bank boosted reserves 0.6% in 2024 following a rise of 21.9% in 2023 and an increase of 14.7% in 2022.
The Moldovan National Bank began maintaining reserve statistics in euros owing to transitioning to the euro as the base currency on January 1, 2025.
