World Bank raises Kazakhstan's GDP growth forecast to 5.5% for 2025

ASTANA. Oct 7 (Interfax) - The World Bank has raised its GDP growth forecast for Kazakhstan for 2025 to 5.5% and to 4.5% for 2026, according to the October edition of its Europe and Central Asia Economic Update: Jobs and Prosperity report.

In June, the World Bank forecast Kazakhstan's GDP growth for 2025 at 4.5%, and at 3.6% for 2026.

According to the report published on Tuesday, a slowdown in Kazakhstan's GDP growth to 3.9% is expected in 2027.

As reported, Kazakhstan's economy grew 6.5% in January-August 2025. The country's GDP increased 4.8% in 2024. According to the National Bank of Kazakhstan's forecasts, the country's GDP growth will be 5.5%-6.5% in 2025.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) previously raised its forecast for Kazakhstan's GDP growth in 2025 to 5.7% while keeping its forecast for 2026 unchanged at 4.5%.

At the end of July, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) raised its forecast for economic growth in Kazakhstan from 4.9% to 5% in 2025. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) also improved its expectations for Kazakhstan's GDP growth this year from 4.9% to 5.1%.

The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) expects Kazakhstan's economic growth in 2025 to be 5.5%, while the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (EFSD) expects it to be 5%.
