Lukashenko says reached agreements with Putin on gas for five-year period

MINSK. Sept 26 (Interfax) - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said he had reached agreements on gas with Russian President Vladimir Putin for a five-year period, not even for one year in the talks in Minsk on Friday.

"We discussed the international situation and the regional situation [...] And at the end we discussed bilateral relations. Oil and gas issues. We agreed on oil - we have serious agreements, there are no problems. We reached agreements on gas. I think we will further polish these issues after this talk. Practically for a five-year period. The issue was a five-year period, not one year," the state agency BelTA quoted Lukashenko as saying.

Lukashenko said he had also discussed with Putin issues relating to the functioning and protection of the common market. "What measures we can take to enable our commodity manufacturers to work," Lukashenko said.
