Kazakh president invites U.S. to pursue joint program in agriculture
ASTANA. Sept 23 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan is ready to enhance cooperation with U.S. companies in the agricultural sector, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
"We invite American companies to participate in putting Kazakhstan's agricultural potential to use. [...] In order to make our partnership stronger, we propose creating a joint agro innovation program aimed at developing sustainable agriculture, water resource management, and digitalization in agriculture," Tokayev was quoted by his press service as saying at a roundtable with U.S. business representatives in New York.
"The opportunities offered by Kazakhstan, which has the sixth largest plough land area in the world and is among the world's top ten grain exporters, should prove interesting" to U.S. partners, he said.
