Central banks of Russia, Belarus to create joint supervisory board

MINSK. Sept 19 (Interfax) - The central banks of Russia and Belarus have signed a regulation on a joint supervisory board, the press service of the National Bank of Belarus said following the regular meeting of the interbank council of the two countries' central banks held in Ufa on Friday.

The regulation was stipulated by a previously concluded bilateral agreement on cooperation and the exchange of information, including confidential information, in the field of supervision and control of the financial market.

The parties also discussed the development of the digital financial assets market and the introduction of digital currencies, the bank said.

The next, 63rd, meeting of the interbank currency council will be held in H1 2026 in Belarus.
