Overbest buys Perevalnoye gold project from Amur Zoloto, plans to invest 40 bln rubles

VLADIVOSTOK. Sept 4 (Interfax) - The investment company Overbest Rus, the Khabarovsk territory government and the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC) signed an agreement on a gold mining project based at the Perevalnoye deposit during the Eastern Economic Forum.

The FEDC said investment in the project would amount to 40 billion rubles.

The deposit is being prepared for development, and the paperwork is being drafted. The project envisages the construction of a gold extraction plant with throughput capacity of 1 million tonnes of ore per year.

Perevalnoye used to belong to Amur Zoloto, a top 30 Russian gold miner. Amur Zoloto reissued the license to a company of the same name, and in August, according to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, Overbest Perevalnoye became its sole owner. In 2023, Amur Zoloto mothballed the Perevalnoye mining and processing plant until 2026.

The Overbest investment group says on its website that it invests, among other things, in coal projects, timber production, non-ferrous and rare earth metals. The beneficiary of Overbest Rus is its CEO, Denis Martyanov.
