Russia still interested in continuing talks with Kiev - Kremlin
MOSCOW. Aug 28 (Interfax) - Russia carries on the special military operation in Ukraine while still being interested in the negotiating process, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"The special military operation goes on. At the same time, Russia is still interested in continuing the negotiating process in order to reach our objectives precisely by political and diplomatic means," Peskov told the press on Thursday.
He thus answered a question on whether Moscow's declarations of the wish to make progress at talks with Ukraine contravened strikes on Ukrainian military facilities.
"The special military operation goes on. The Kiev regime continues to strike Russian infrastructure, it is often Russian peaceful infrastructure. The Russian Armed Forces are accomplishing their missions, they continue to strike military and paramilitary infrastructure. The strikes are successful, and the targets are destroyed," Peskov said.
There is no agreement on an airspace ceasefire in Ukraine, Peskov told reporters.
"No agreements to this end have been reached," Peskov said in response to a related question.
"Everything that can be discussed in the search for ways towards a settlement trajectory should be discussed in a discrete manner," he said.
