MOSCOW. Aug 28 (Interfax) - Head of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky's Office Andrei Yermak and National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov will meet with U.S. President Donald Trump's team in New York on Friday, Ukrainian media quoted Zelensky as saying.

"Yesterday [on Tuesday], Andrei Yermak and Rustem Umerov had meetings in Qatar, in particular regarding mediation. Today [on Wednesday], there were meetings in Saudi Arabia. Tomorrow [on Thursday], meetings are planned in Switzerland. On Friday, in New York, the United States, there will be meetings with President Trump's team," Zelensky was quoted as saying in his address on Wednesday evening.

Everything working on the substance of military, political and economic guarantees of security will be involved in these meetings, he said.

The U.S. president's Special Envoy Steve Witkoff said in an interview with the Fox News television channel earlier that he would be meeting with Ukrainian officials in New York later in the week. U.S. representatives are talking to the Russian side "every day," Witkoff said.

Washington is hopeful that the ingredients to get a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine could be found before the end of 2025, he said.
