HONG-KONG. Aug 26 (Interfax) - Russia and a number of other countries are interested in building a nuclear power plant in Indonesia, the Jakarta Globe newspaper reported on Tuesday, citing the country's energy minister, Bahlil Lahadalia.
According to the minister, Canada and Russia and several other countries have expressed interest in working on a nuclear power plant in Indonesia, the publication said.
"About four or five countries have expressed interest in developing Indonesian nuclear energy. We are still reviewing the proposals," the minister told journalists in Jakarta.
He did not specify which other countries wish to participate in the development of Indonesia's nuclear industry.
At the same time, the Indonesian authorities have already held meetings with representatives from Canada and Russia to discuss plans for the construction of an NPP, he said.
Indonesia's state energy company PLN plans to build two nuclear power plants by 2034, the Jakarta Globe said.
