SOCAR and China's CC7 discuss partnership in oil industry and petrochemicals

BAKU. Aug 22 (Interfax) - The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) and the China National Chemical Engineering & Construction Corporation Seven (CC7) met in Baku to discuss partnership opportunities in oil and petrochemicals industry, SOCAR said in a statement.

"SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf met with a delegation led by Long Haiyang, Chairman of the Board of China National Chemical Engineering and Construction Corporation (CC7) [...] The two sides discussed potential cooperation opportunities in the oil and petrochemical industry in Azerbaijan and in third countries," the statement reads.

SOCAR provided information on the various areas of its activity in the energy sector, as well as strategic projects which it is implementing in Azerbaijan and overseas.

CC7 is a subsidiary of China National Chemical Engineering Group Corporation (CNCEC), one of China's largest engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors. Founded in 1964 with its head office in Chengdu, CC7 is active in the chemicals and non-chemical industries in Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
