Oil supplies to Slovakia via Druzhba pipeline resume - Transpetrol
MOSCOW. Aug 20 (Interfax) - Oil supplies to Slovakia via the Druzhba pipeline have resumed, the press service of Slovakian pipeline operator Transpetrol told Interfax.
"Oil supplies to Slovakia via the Druzhba pipeline resumed on the evening of August 19, 2025," a company representative said.
Oil supplies from Russia to Slovakia and Hungary were suspended on August 18. Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said at the time that this was because Ukrainian Armed Forces had attacked a substation of the Druzhba pipeline.
Szijjarto said on Tuesday evening that oil supplies to Hungary had resumed. "Oil deliveries to Hungary via the Druzhba pipeline have been restored after the Ukrainian attack two days ago. I thanked Russian Deputy Energy Minister Pavel Sorokin for the swift repairs," Szijjarto said.
The Druzhba oil pipeline starts in Russia, then crosses Belarus where it branches to the north and south. The southern branch crosses Ukraine and Slovakia, from where it branches to Hungary and the Czech Republic.
