Trump doesn't rule out that after meeting with Putin he may quickly arrange Russia-U.S.-Ukraine summit
WASHINGTON. Aug 13 (Interfax) - U.S. President Donald Trump has said that if a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin is successful he could arrange a meeting between the leaders of the U.S. and Russia, as well as Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
"If the first one goes okay, we'll have a quick second one [...] between President Putin and President Zelensky and myself - if they'd like to have me," he told reporters.
Trump said that he would like to have it almost immediately after the first meeting. He would like to find a solution to the Ukraine conflict already there.
Trump said he is not sure that his bilateral meeting with Putin will be successful.
He said that the decision to hold talks scheduled for August 15 without Zelensky was not his, but the Russian side's.
