FAS proposes extending price stabilization agreement mechanism until end of 2029
MOSCOW. Aug 7 (Interfax) - The mechanism allowing regional authorities, retailers and producers of socially important goods to conclude temporary price agreements may be extended until December 31, 2029, with the initiative proposed by the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS), the agency said.
The FAS recalled that the validity period of government resolution no. 662, which regulates the procedure for concluding such agreements, expires in May 2026 under the current version of the document. To extend it, the service has prepared and published on regulation.gov.ru a draft of amendments to the resolution.
As of August 2025, according to FAS data, temporary price agreements are in effect in 70 Russian regions with the participation of 259 manufacturers, 63 wholesale organizations, 13,098 retail organizations, 161 pharmacy chains and 3 fuel station networks.
"The tool aims to improve the pricing situation on the consumer market and increase the affordability of goods for citizens. Practice shows that regions with active agreements demonstrate positive effects in price dynamics compared to regions where no such agreements were concluded," it said.
