Belarus developing contacts with U.S

MINSK. July 28 (Interfax) - Minsk is developing contacts with Washington, Pavel Shidlovsky, charge d'affaires a.i. of Belarus in the United States, told reporters on Monday.

"Our dialogue with the U.S. side continues, the necessary contacts have been found, they are developing," the diplomat was quoted as saying by the state agency BelTA.

"The embassy is also holding dialogue with U.S. public organizations, the humanitarian community, the expert community. That is, there is certain interest in Belarus. But diplomacy likes silence, therefore, I cannot say anything more at this point," Shidlovsky said.

Responding to a question about the possibility of mutual accreditation of ambassadors, the diplomat said, "at this stage, Belarus is conducting dialogue with the U.S. administration, the necessary contacts have been established and are being maintained, but this specific issue is currently not on the agenda."
