Trump says no progress made in Ukraine conflict settlement in phone call with Putin - media
WASHINGTON. July 4 (Interfax) - U.S. President Donald Trump has said that no progress was made in the Ukraine conflict settlement in the phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday.
"No, I didn't make any progress with him today at all," Trump told the U.S. press.
"We also talked about, as you know, the war with Ukraine. And I'm not happy about that," Trump said.
He added that Iran was also mentioned in the conversation.
Trump also said that the United States continues to supply weapons to Ukraine despite the suspended shipment of certain types of armaments.
"We are giving weapons [...] and we are working with them and trying to help them," U.S. media quoted Trump as saying.
He added that such assistance was not possible sometimes and blamed his predecessor Joe Biden, who, according to Trump "emptied out our whole country giving them weapons, and we have to make sure that we have enough for ourselves."
The U.S. administration said earlier this week it had paused the supply of certain types of weapons to Ukraine, including air defense missiles. Washington said the United States was close to running out of such weapons.
