LNG large-capacity equipment test stand to be launched by end of year - Russian minister
MOSCOW. July 2 (Interfax) - Russia's first test complex for large-capacity liquefied natural gas (LNG) production equipment will be commissioned by the end of the year, Industry and Trade Minister Anton Alikhanov said during a government hour session at the Federation Council.
The Industry and Trade Ministry is involved in implementing five areas of the New Nuclear and Energy Technologies national technological leadership project, he said.
"We plan to develop over 320 units of equipment for the oil and gas sector, the electricity industry, energy storage systems and alternative energy sources. For this purpose, we're expanding testing infrastructure," he said.
"In St. Petersburg, we've created a test stand for small- and medium-capacity LNG equipment. And by the end of the year, Russia's first test complex for the large-capacity segment will be commissioned," he said.
According to presented slides, investment in the test stand amounted to 6.7 billion rubles.
In addition, preparations are underway for construction of the Russian Electrical Equipment Testing Center, he said.
