U.S. imposes sanctions on Russia-based Aeza Group IT company

WASHINGTON. July 1 (Interfax) - The authorities of the United States have imposed sanctions on the IT company Aeza Group and legal entities and individuals linked to it because they believe they are involved in cybercrime, the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the U.S. Department of the Treasury said on its website.

The company is based in Russia, OFAC said.

"Today, the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) is designating Aeza Group, a bulletproof hosting (BPH) services provider, for its role in supporting cybercriminal activity targeting victims in the United States and around the world," OFAC said.

In addition, four individuals, namely, the company's shareholders and management, were included in sanctions lists.

Restrictions were also imposed on Aeza Group's four subsidiaries and its branch in the United Kingdom.
