Kiev preparing moratorium on business checks, not planning to amend tax policy

MOSCOW. June 30 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has ordered that a decision on long-term business checks moratorium be drafted to prevent pressure on businesses, Ukrainian media said.

"I have ordered that a decision on a long-term moratorium on business checks be drafted to protect businesses from any pressure by dishonest people occupying various positions," media quoted Zelensky as saying at the State and Business: From Dialogue to Partnership forum.

In turn, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said at the forum that the government was not planning any abrupt changes to the tax policy during martial law.

"An important aspect is the constancy of tax policy. We do not plan any drastic changes here during the martial law. We understand that business needs resources to strengthen, restore, and modernize," media quoted Shmygal as saying.

The government is actively working with partners to draw the anticipated foreign funding and support the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the economy and infrastructure, he said.

Businesses paid over UAH1.5 trillion hryvni to the state budget as taxes and duties in the first five months of 2025, Shmygal said.
