Zelensky hoping EU supports Ukraine's budget needs

MOSCOW. June 27 (Interfax) - Ukraine is counting on further European support to meet its budget needs next year, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said as quoted by Ukrainian media.

"Budget support remains crucial to us. We are counting on your further support to meet our budget needs, especially next year," Ukrainian media quoted Zelensky as saying at the EU summit.

"There is a need for a clear political message that Ukraine is committed to the European path and Europe keeps its promises. Any delay on the part of Europe at this stage may set a global precedent, a reason to doubt words and obligations of Europe," Zelensky said.
