EAEU, UAE free trade agreement will benefit Russia's economy - presidential representative

MOSCOW. June 26 (Interfax) - The free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries and the United Arab Emirates will positively affect Russia's economy, Boris Titov, special Russian presidential representative for relations with international organizations to achieve sustainable development goals, believes.

"The free trade agreement between the EAEU and the UAE, which will be signed on June 27, is a very systemic measure that should not only facilitate trade, but also have a beneficial effect on services, investments, and real estate purchase conditions," Titov was quoted as saying on Thursday by his press service during the EAEU-UAE business talks held as part of the Eurasian Economic Forum in Minsk.

Titov said that Russian business is very widely present in the UAE today. "Even in the green agenda [it is present]. The first carbon units issued in Russia for green projects were bought by an investment fund from the UAE," he said.

Titov also said that the UAE is one of Russia's main partners in forming sustainable development goals for the period after 2030.
