Growth in Russia's fuel prices does not outpace inflation since start of year - FAS head
MOSCOW. June 26 (Interfax) - The rate of growth in Russia's fuel prices has not outpaced inflation since the beginning of this year, Federal Anti-monopoly Service (FAS) head Maxim Shaskolsky told the government.
"The dynamics of changes in the retail prices for AI-92 and AI-95 motor gasoline, and diesel have not exceeded inflation since the beginning of 2025," Shaskolsky said.
Shaskolsky also said that the FAS is studying the economic feasibility of various components of the cost of petroleum products, namely transportation, storage, and sales, which are included in the final price for consumers.
"Thanks to developing exchange mechanisms among independent market participants and petroleum products, there has been a reorientation of purchases of motor fuel from the small wholesale segment to the exchange wholesale segment. Providing agricultural producers with fuel at affordable prices is under special control. We will take antimonopoly response measures in the event of an unsubstantiated rise in prices," Shaskolsky said.
