Ukrainian Border Service updates border crossing statistics

MOSCOW. June 23 (Interfax) - The number of people who crossed Ukraine's western borders over the week from June 14 to 20, 2025 increased by 12.2% to 662,000, Ukrainian media reported referring to the State Border Service's social media post.

The number of people who crossed into Ukraine last week grew to 313,000 from 266,000 the week before, while the number of those leaving Ukraine was up to 349,000 from 324,000.

The number of vehicles crossing the border increased to 135,000 from 127,000 in this period, and the number of vehicles carrying humanitarian aid cleared to cross the border declined slightly to 507 from 514.

According to the United Nations Refugee Agency's reports updated on May 31, 2025, the number of Ukrainian refugees around the world was estimated at 5.620 million (down from 6.918 million as of April 17, 2025), including 5.059 million in European countries outside of Ukraine (down from 6.358 million).

Inside Ukraine, according to the UN's data as of the end of 2024, there were around 3.669 million internally displaced persons (IDPs).
