Russia ready to cooperate with Indonesia in all areas - Lavrov

MOSCOW. June 17 (Interfax) - Russia is ready to enlarge exports to Indonesia and is interested in joint investment projects, including those in the fuel and energy sector, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

"We have underlined our readiness to enlarge exports of Russian products to the Indonesian market, including energy, agricultural goods, fertilizers and other commodities," Lavrov said after negotiations with Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono.

Moscow and Jakarta "have a mutual wish to implement joint investment projects, above all in the fuel and energy sector and other areas, including high technologies," he said.

"Indonesia is planning to develop the national nuclear energy sector, and the Rosatom state corporation is ready to join the construction of a nuclear power plant. We also view the non-energy use of nuclear technologies as a promising area, and Rosatom has accumulated very serious competences," Lavrov said.

In the course of negotiations, the sides "stated identical or close positions on a majority of current international issues, including the most pressing ones, such as the situation in the Middle East, on Palestinian lands," he said.

"Of course, these include Israel's attack on the Islamic Republic of Iran and the need for all efforts to be taken by the international community to ease the tensions, de-escalate and shift to solving any arising problems at the negotiating table," Lavrov said.
