EU approves 17th sanctions package against Russia - Kallas

BRUSSELS. May 20 (Interfax) - The European Union has approved the 17th package of sanctions against Russia, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas said on Tuesday.

"The EU has approved its 17th sanctions package against Russia, targeting nearly 200 shadow fleet ships," Kallas said on the X social network.

"New measures also address hybrid threats and human rights," she said.

The EU is working on further restrictions against Russia, Kallas said.

The Official Journal of the EU is due to publish the 17th sanctions package later on Tuesday.
