MOSCOW. May 13 (Interfax) - The State Scientific Research and Design Institute for Rare Metal Industry (JSC Giredmet, a research and design institute of the Rosatom state corporation) and the Indian Council of Scientific and Industrial Research have signed a declaration on cooperation in the field of rare and rare earth metals, according to the corporate publication Rosatom Country.

"The document envisions a qualitative enhancement of academic, scientific and research cooperation and interaction between Russian and Indian scientists," the publication said.

"The focus is on the development and implementation of technologies for the comprehensive processing of rare and rare earth metals (RMs and REMs), raw materials for obtaining high-purity metals, their compounds, alloys and materials for the electronics, chemical and nuclear industries. We are interested in scaling these technologies up to pilot-scale production with further integration into the industries of both countries," the director of the chemical technology cluster at Rosatom Science, Andrei Golinei, was quoted as saying.
