Ukrainian State Border Service updates border crossing statistics
MOSCOW. April 28 (Interfax) - The number of people who crossed Ukraine's western borders over the week from April 19 to 25 declined by 20% to 469,000, thus marking a net outflow of 31,000 people after a net inflow of 82,000 a week before, Ukrainian media reported referring to the State Border Service's social media post.
The number of people who crossed into Ukraine last week dropped by 34.4% to 219,000 from 334,000 the week before, while the number of those leaving Ukraine slid by 0.8% to 250,000 from 252,000.
The number of vehicles crossing the border decreased to 102,000 from 132,000 the week before, while the number of vehicles carrying humanitarian aid cleared to cross the border dropped to 430 from 594.
According to the United Nations Refugee Agency's reports updated on April 17, 2025, the number of Ukrainian refugees around the world was estimated at 6.918 million, or 15,000 fewer than on March 20, 2025, including 6.358 million in European countries outside of Ukraine.
Inside Ukraine, according to the UN's latest data, there are around 3.669 million internally displaced persons (IDPs).
