Azerbaijan's AZAL to launch flights to Kazakhstan's Shymkent on June 28

BAKU. April 22 (Interfax) - Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) will begin scheduled flights from Baku to Shymkent, Kazakhstan, starting June 28 as part of its route network expansion.

The airline said flights between Baku and Shymkent would operate three times a week: departing from Baku on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays and returning from Shymkent on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

Currently, AZAL operates flights from Baku to Kazakhstan's Almaty, Aktau and Astana. No other airline offers direct flights between Baku and Shymkent.
