Sberbank boosts net profit to RAS to 404.5 bln rubles in Q1, 137 bln rubles in March

MOSCOW. April 9 (Interfax) - Sberbank boosted its net profit to Russian Accounting Standards by 11.1% year-on-year from 364 billion rubles to 404.5 billion rubles in the first quarter of 2025, the bank said.

Net profit grew 6.8% to 137.2 billion rubles in March.

Return on equity increased from 22% to 22.6% year-on-year in January-March 2025. It decreased from 22.5% to 21.5% in March.

Provision charges and revaluation of loans at fair value decreased 68.5% to 64.8 billion rubles in the first quarter of 2025, and totaled 21.2 billion rubles in March. The bank said that the size of provisions was influenced substantially by the strengthening of the ruble.

The cost of risk excluding the effect of FX revaluation amounted to 1.4% in January-March 2025, compared to 1.8% a year previously, and 1.2% in March.
