Russian Industry Ministry aims to increase share of domestic equipment for fuel, energy sector to 90% by 2030
KAZAN. April 3 (Interfax) - Russia's Industry and Trade Ministry expects to increase the share of domestic equipment supplied to the fuel and energy sector to 90% by 2030, Deputy Minister Mikhail Ivanov said at the Energoprom international forum in Kazan.
"As part of technical projects for which the Industry and Trade Ministry is responsible, we plan to develop more than 300 pieces of equipment, products and components in the field for electric power, oil and gas in areas such as oil refining, petrochemicals, liquefied natural gas (LNG), as well as alternative energy sources," he said.
"The datasheet for the national project to 2030 provides about 140 billion rubles in budget financing for this purpose. The project will be bolstered by well-known, proven mechanisms, such as subsidies for expenses on R&D, university work, reverse engineering, and through new instruments. For example, a subsidy to compensate the buyer for the difference in price between domestic and foreign equipment," Ivanov said.
"By 2030 we plan to increase the share of domestic equipment supplied for the fuel and energy market to 90%," he said.
"One of the federal projects will be devoted to the electricity sector. We plan to develop more than 50 types of electric power and power grid equipment. We expect, for example, to master production of several types of large-, medium- and small-capacity gas turbines that are needed on our market. This refers, specifically, to the marinization of a dual-fuel 8 MW gas turbine unit for its application at offshore oil and gas fields. Also, there are versions of a 25 MW mobile gas turbine unit for rapid deployment in energy shortages, production of large-capacity 300 MW gas turbines. This is a new level for us, these are the machines that will replace similar foreign equipment," Ivanov said.
"In order to ensure the uninterrupted operation of foreign turbines, we will create a new servicing market essentially from scratch. And, as it happens, the emergence of new markets in our country is one of the objectives that the Russian president set as part of the whole ideology of national projects for technological leadership," Ivanov said.
